Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive legal analysis of drug-related laws at both national and international levels, with a comparative examination of Islamic legal perspectives. It explores how different countries legislate against the production, distribution, and consumption of narcotics, focusing on the alignment and divergence between international treaties, such as the United Nations Conventions, and local legislation, particularly in Pakistan. Furthermore, the paper delves into Islamic jurisprudence on intoxicants, emphasizing the principles derived from the Qur'an, Hadith, and the consensus of scholars. The research highlights the effectiveness, challenges, and moral foundations of legal frameworks addressing drug abuse, while offering a critical comparison between secular and religious legal systems. Ultimately, this study aims to contribute towards a more ethical and effective legal approach to drug control by bridging modern law and Islamic principles.
