MINORITY ISSUES IN ISLAMIC SOCIETIES (PAKISTANI CONTEXT)

چکیده

Islam gives human and religious rights to minorities living in Islamic societies and provides legal assurance for protecting those rights. However, the minorities are facing certain issues in Islamic societies. Some of these issues include conversion into Islam by force, social contempt, desecration of and occupation on religious places, security issues, burning of minority’s properties, lack of suitable syllabus in educational settings, banishment, subdued freedom, identity issues, less religious freedom and so on. The life of minorities has been greatly affected by these social and legal challenges which has resulted in immigration. In case of occupation on religious places, their rights of religious freedom have been so badly violated. The solution would be to incorporate such things into the educational system that could eliminate the social contempt against them and to point out legal issues to make new legislation suited to minorities so that they could live a peaceful life in the country.
